First of all, You took the point I was making to a different level. Anyway, you bring up foster care. It is lovely that people open up their homes to children in need, however, these foster parents do get paid very nicely. Also as far as welfare recipients, I am sure getting foodstamps would be better than putting your child in foster care. My point was totally mistaken by you. As far as unwed parents, it is too much too often, and yes a majority end up on food stamps/welfare. You came up with percentage, that means you must read. I take care of other peoples kids too, but I don't get paid. I am one of the family members that cares enough about a child and do not want my family member to go from one foster care home to another. I feel foster homes should be for true emergency reasons. To try and rationalize why there are so many unwed parents and single parents raising children is redundant. Someone has to PAY for it, and it usually is the taxpayer. Also, where does our government get the money to pay foster parents??????? Yes Carrie it is a differnet world out there, a free society. People give birth, play house for awhile and then find they can't take care of their own child. Thank God for taxpayers.
