David W. Fredley, 77, formerly of Butler, died Thursday at the hospital in The Villages, Fla.

He moved to The Villages in 2000 from Naples, Fla. He retired from the Butler Postal Service in 1985 after 35 years. Mr. Fredley was also a veteran of the Navy.

He was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church and a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 249 in Butler and The Airheads Support Group in The Villages.

Surviving are his wife, Marlys; twin sons, Richard L. and Robert W. Fredley; two daughters, Nancy Woods of Karns City and Sharon Fredley of Butler; two granddaughters, Lee Ann Woods of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Laurel Ann Fredley-Millich of Butler; and two sisters, Ruth Steinheiser of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Leah Miller of Butler.

Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Rhonda Casey of Medford Lakes, N.J.; a stepson, Jay C. Gillespie of Verona, Wisc.; and three stepgrandchildren, Ryan and Mike Gillespie and Rebecca Casey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William. J. and Della C. Fredley.

<B>FREDLEY</B> — A Celebration of Life service forDavid W. Fredley, who died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Hope Lutheran Church, The Villages, Fla. with the Rev. William Corkish officiating. Interment will be in the Hope Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association, 1333 W. Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32804.Arrangements are being made by <B>ALL FAITHS CREMATION SOCIETY</B>.
