Monday — Police filed drug-related charges against Deryl Alexander, 25, stemming from a warrant search about 2:15 p.m. Friday at his Hansen Avenue home.Police said the search turned up suspected marijuana, a scale, drug packaging materials and cash. Apolice report noted that while being served with the warrant, the defendant "charged toward the officers in an attempt to escape."Alexander is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest.Monday — Lance Collier, 47, of Butler was charged with stalking and harassment for allegedly sending numerous electronic messages to a 23-year-old Butler woman.The woman, in a complaint filed with police, accused Collier of repeatedly sending the unwelcome messages as well as following her around in public places.6:50 a.m. Sunday — William L.Gold, 40, was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at his South Street home.The 37-year-old Butler woman suffered bruises to the nose and both sides of her face; she also had a cut on her hand, and hair was pulled out of her head.Police said Gold is charged with simple assault and was placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail.
2:13 a.m. Friday — Robin Hart, 28, of Valencia was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 8. Police said Hart also faces charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, driving without headlights, careless driving and an open container violation.
Sunday — Several undisclosed items were taken during a burglary between Feb. 17 and Sunday at the Freeport Street home of Mark Burd in Clinton Township.12:10 p.m. Friday — Acar driven by John E. Bell, 52, of Slippery Rock crashed into a side of trailer being pulled by a truck tractor on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township. The car traveled off the highway, struck an embankment and rolled over several times.Police said Bell, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered moderate injuries. Kenneth Meuse, 39, of Evansville, Ind., was driving the tractor-trailer.1:21 a.m. Friday — Acar driven by Kevin A. Hill, 29, of Hickory, Lawrence County, struck a tree after sliding off snow- and ice-covered Route 575 in Jefferson Township.10:12 a.m. Thursday — A28-year-old Butler area man was arrested for suspected drunken driving during a traffic safety checkpoint on Henricks Road in Center Township.Police did not identify the man, who was found with a marijuana smoke pipe. The suspect faces charges of driving under the influence of marijuana, pending chemical test results.7:25 a.m. Thursday — Acar driven by Vicki Knapp, 49, of Mars and a sport utility vehicle driven by Deborah Donahue, 25, of Sarver collided on Saxonburg Boulevard in Clinton. Police said Knapp was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.8:26 p.m. Wednesday — Apickup truck driven by Daniel Christiania, 16, and a car driven by Clair Bickel Jr., 69, both of Slippery Rock, collided on Route 8 in Center Township. Bickel was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for an unknown injury.5:05 p.m. Feb. 19 — An SUVdriven by James Confer III, 17, of Cabot struck the rear of a car on Route 356 in Jefferson Township. The collision forced the car, driven by Jack Keihl, 67, of Cabot into another car driven by Randy McClelland, 41, of East Butler. Police said Confer was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.1:46 p.m. Feb. 18 — Tammy Hilliard, 40, of Hilliards is accused of giving police a wrong name after she was stopped for driving an unregistered vehicle on Route 308 in Center Township. Police said Hilliard is charged with false identification to law enforcement authorities.1:33 p.m. Feb. 10 — Apickup driven by Richard Todd, 37, of Hilliards and a car driven by Kristin McMillen, 18, of North Washington collided on Route 38 in Washington Township.
4:22 a.m. Feb. 3 — Brock Confer, 25, of Emlenton was arrested for driving under the influence after crashing his truck into a ditch at Freeman and Hogback roads in Richland Township.
10 p.m. Saturday — Roger Lee Porter Jr., 22, ofFord City was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl in Ford City.Porter is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, sexual assault, indecent assault, simple assault and corruption of minors; he is in the Armstrong County Jail on $25,000 bail.
2:45 p.m. Sunday — Two people were injured when cars driven by Janet M. Fair, 54, of Gibsonia and Raymond Benedict, 66, of Grove City collided on Route 956 near Mercer Road in Wilmington Township.Fair suffered what appeared to be a broken leg, according to a police report. Benedict suffered unknown minor injuries.
