I AGREE! But lets look at the whole picture. Too many illegitimate children are being born for the taxpayers to raise. I do not know what can be done about that. If you are referring to families on welfare smoking and drinking, again I believe there are too many unwed moms with kids that do not have the appropriate resources and cannot take care of kids. Many young people should not have become parents. Our society suffers for this. I have a problem with these same people getting asisstance and not keeping their apartments clean and being allowed to have pets while they are on food stamps. I believe if you knock on Uncle Sam's door for food, you should not be allowed pets. This may be part of the problem with animal abuse. People getting cash from welfare should automatically have a caseworker that visits their home monthly, to see for theirself what the living conditions are. I rent in Butler and keep a very clean apartment. What I have to live next door to has been horrible. Pets people do not care for, kids that are dirty, filth all over. I have never seen so many of this type of people as I have seen in Butler. Some are on welfare some disability. But alot of these people are nasty. I guess this is acceptable. I have moved 3 times in hopes of getting a clean quiet neighbor. That is all I ask. I do not know the answer to this. I believe a tighter ship needs to be run for welfare recipients. But the public needs to address the correct member of congress and push the issue. ALL children should be raised in clean nutritional households. But are they? Pets should not be allowed in home that are paid for by uncle Sam in one way or another. As for the drinking and smoking, If people are caught drinking on welfare I believe they have to answer to it. But there is ALOT to be said and some new rules need to be made. Maybe we will finally elect that wonderful new president that will see the forest no matter how trees there are. Good comment Steve.
