Willis Arthur Stevick
Willis Arthur Stevick, 85, of Cranberry in Venango County, formerly of Butler, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.
Born Dec. 15, 1922, in Butler County, he was the son of George and Edith Fair Stevick.
Mr. Stevick was a World War II veteran and served in the Army Air Corps.
He had been a millwright for the majority of his working years and worked at various mills throughout the country before retiring in 1986.
He and his wife enjoyed volunteering together for Meals on Wheels and delivered many meals throughout the Oil City and Cranberry Township communities in Venango County for several years. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially enjoyed playing old-fashioned country western music on his guitar.
Surviving are his wife, the former Teresa Knechtel, whom he married Jan. 31, 1987, in Butler; two children, Bradley Stevick of Michigan and Theresa Kurtinaitis and her husband, Adam, of Michigan; a grandson, Anson Kurtinaitis of Michigan; seven stepchildren; 19 step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Stevick, and four sisters, Mae Fassinger, Ruth Dean, Thelma Frishkorn and Gladys Trauterman.
