Helen Laurent

Helen M. "Toots" Laurent, 80, of Butler died Saturday at Sunnyview Home.

Born in Butler on Jan. 4, 1928, she was the daughter of George and Irene Grossi Houllion.

She was a homemaker.

A lifelong member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, she belonged to a group of friends known as the "Golden Girls" for more than 50 years.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Donna)Best of Evans City; a son, Daniel J. Laurent of Butler; a sister, Mrs. Russell (Joanne) McCracken of Butler; a brother, Robert J. Houllion of Butler; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Laurent, who died July 18, 2002, and two sons, David Laurent and Steven Laurent.

<B>LAURENT</B> — There will be no public visitation for Helen M. "Toots" Laurent, who died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. James Dolan, pastor, officiating.Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Butler Public Library.
