Neff 65th anniversary

Averil and Regis Neff

Regis and Averil Neff of Chicora celebrated 65 years of marriage Jan. 20 with a Mass Jan. 20 at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Summit Township celebrated by the Rev. Steven Neff. Areception for family and friends followed in the church hall.

The former Averil Black married Neff Jan. 16, 1943, at St. John Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville.

They have four children, Ruth Ann Douthett and Jeanne Aubrey, both of Butler, and David Neff and Ronald Neff, both of Chicora.

They also have 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

Neff is retired from the T.W. Phillips gas company. He is a life member of VFW Post 7876 in Chicora, American Legion Post 642 in Chicora, Chicora Moose Lodge and the Roman Catholic Men's Club of Herman. Aveteran of the Army, he served in field artillery during World War II.

Mrs. Neff is a retired registered nurse.

The couple belongs to St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Chicora, where Neff is active in the Holy Name Society and Mrs. Neff is a member of the Christian Women's group. Both are also members of the Tanglewood Senior Center.
