Smith

Frances J. Smith, 68, of Silver Creek, N.Y., died Sunday at the Buffalo General Hospital in New York.

Born May 3, 1939, in Coraopolis, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Evelyn Henderson Dickenson.

She owned and operated Dickenson's Greenhouse in Silver Creek for more than 30 years.

Mrs. Smith had traveled extensively through Europe, the Middle East, the British Isles, Scandinavia and Greece.

She was an avid bowler. She enjoyed photography and entered many photographs in the county fair competition and won numerous awards. She also entered pies and baked goods at festivals and county fairs, winning numerous blue ribbons.

Surviving are two sons, Michael Smith (Silvana Alcivar) of Silver Creek and Shawn Smith (Mary) of Sunset Bay, N.Y.; a stepbrother, Gary Dickenson; stepsisters, Pauline Fox, Marylee Blonski and Joan Madia; step-grandchildren, Donald and Kevin DiGacomo; her longtime companion, Clarence Merchant; and she was very close to Adriana Alcivar and Susi Prince-Rivera.

Smith, who died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and form 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel</B>, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek, N.Y.
