The Slippery Rock High 400 freestyle relay teams finished in the top two spots to help the Rockets girls swimming team secure an 87-80 win over RockyGrove Monday night.

The team of Whitney Snyder, Kristen Workley, Nicole Moraitis and HannahParsons placed first with a time of 4 minutes, 47.22 seconds.

Slippery Rock also had the second-place team in the relay, with Kristen Thompson, Sophia Tsiris, Alyssa Martinez and Cory Kirk coming in with a time of 5:00.22.

Katie Kosiorek won the 50-yard freestyle and Tsiris met the District 10 qualifying standard in the 100-yard breaststroke for the Rockets.

On the boys side, Kyle Hawk, NathanEilenfeldt, Andrew Opalewski, Jacob Johnston, Ken Tibbens andCaleb Sykora-Bodie all emerged with victories as SlipperyRock downed RockyGrove 40-22.

Johnston qualified for the District 10 meet in the 200 individual medley and Opalewski in the 100 backstroke. Both have qualified for the district meet in six events.

Hockey

Zach Pennington scored two goals and R.C.Double had two assists as Butler team downed Baldwin 3-1 at the Ice ConnectionMonday night.

Mavrik Geopfert added a goal and an assists for the Golden Tornado.

Goalie Justin O'Donnell stopped 17 of 18 shots.
