Catherine L. "Kitty" Doerr, 81, of Butler died at 2 a.m. Wednesday at Grove Manor in Grove City.

Born July 24, 1926, in Butler, she was the daughter of Arthur and Clara Shuler Trimbur.

She was a member of St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church.

She received her RN degree in 1948 and worked as a nurse until she made a midlife career change to become a teacher's aide at the Clarence Brown School.

She was a member of the Nurses Alumni and the Association of Artists of Butler. She was a Eucharistic minister and volunteered for the Area Agency on Aging.

She was a world traveler, and enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Surviving are two daughters, Doreen Doerr of Butler, and Diane Henry and her husband, John, of Butler; two sons, Jim Doerr of Slippery Rock and Richard P. Doerr of Butler; eight grandchildren, Alaina Henry of Los Angeles, Nicholas and Hannah Henry, both of Butler, Tyler Doerr of Butler, Sarah Doerr of Phoenix, Billy and Orren Doerr, both of Butler, and Amy Lyn Brown of Slippery Rock; a great-grandson, Stephen Brown of Slippery Rock; four sisters, Jeanne and Al Lowe of Butler, Helen Hohn of Chicora, Suzy and Bill Reeves of Chicora and Carolyn and John Grecco of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Joe and Corky Trimbur of Big Pine Key, Fla.; brother-in-law, Eugene "Mac" Mercurio of Butler; and her best friend and colleague, Edie Huntsman of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Doerr Sr., who she married April 21, 1949, and who died June 16, 1996; a son, Stephen J. Doerr, who died May 30, 1990; a great-grandson, Memphis Lee Brown; five sisters, and two brothers.

<B>DOERR</B> — Friends of Catherine L. "Kitty" Doerr, who died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>.Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N.
