Ethel Maye Myers
Ethel Maye Myers, 89, of Sligo died at 10:51 a.m. Tuesday at the Clarion Hospital.
Born June 25, 1918, in Porter Township, Clarion County, she was the daughter of Frank and Lulu McDonald Polliard.
A 1936 graduate of Clarion High School, she was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, camping and traveling.
Mrs. Myers was a devout member of the Monroe Chapel United Methodist Church near Reidsburg.
Surviving are three daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Rawland Fox of Butler, Gladine and Terry Botzer of Limestone and Marcia and Dan Gathers of Rimersburg; twin sons and their wives, Donald and Karen Myers of Rimersburg and Ronald and Joan Myers of Butler; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Jay Myers, whom she married Oct. 8, 1936, died Sept. 13, 1996. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Dale Myers.
<B>MYERS</B> — Friends of Ethel Maye Myers, who died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the <B>Varner Funeral Home</B> in Sligo. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Monroe Chapel United Methodist Church. The Revs. Clara and Jerry Belliot will co-officiate. Burial will follow at the Squirrel Hill Cemetery near New Bethlehem.Memorial donations be made to the Monroe Chapel United Methodist Church, Sligo, 16255; or to the Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice, Knox, 16232.
