Thursday — Police filed a bad checks charge against Howard Garvin Jr., 40, of North Buffalo Township for allegedly passing on Oct. 27 a bad check for $680 to Salego Heating and Air Conditioning of Lower Burrell, Westmoreland County.9:45 p.m. Wednesday — Robert Crissman, 30, of Kittanning was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 28 in North Buffalo Township.

7:41 p.m. Sunday — AButler teenager faces drug-related charges after a patrolman stopped him on North Sixth Avenue when the teen was driving a car with a broken windshield.The officer found Keith Victor, 18, carrying a bag of suspected marijuana as well as a smoking pipe, according to a police report. Victor was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and not complying with inspection laws.6:32 p.m. Saturday — David Everetts, 38, of Butler is accused of assaulting a 14-year-old Butler Township boy during an altercation on Miller Avenue. Police said Everetts is charged with simple assault.8:18 p.m. Feb. 1 — Lisa Diane Davis, 37, of Butler was cited for three traffic violations after her car struck a city woman on South Main Street.The victim, Lois Mitchell, 49, was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for bumps and bruises, according to a police report.Davis is charged with accidents involving injury, failure to give information and render aid after an accident, and not immediately notifying police of an accident.

12:26 a.m. Thursday — A suspected drunken driver was arrested at the Greater Butler Mart on Route 8 South a short time after she allegedly rammed her car into her ex-boyfriend's vehicle parked at the Old Plank Estates apartment complex.Police said Michelle Volker, 30. of Butler had gone to the complex to confront her former boyfriend. She reportedly pounded on the door of an apartment and then shoved him before leaving. But before she did, Volker intentionally crashed into the man's vehicle, police said.Officers spotted Volker's car on Litman Road, and stopped her in the shopping plaza. Police said she is charged with harassment, disorderly conduct, driving under the influence, driving without a license and public drunkenness.
