Catherine E. Snyder
Catherine E. Snyder, 91, formerly of Sunbury Estates, died Wednesday morning at Evie's Country Care.
Born Oct. 29, 1916, in Waynesburg, she was the daughter of Owen R. and Ora L. Bell Fox.
She was a homemaker and also had operated Snyder's Upholstering Shop on Old Route 422, east of Butler, from 1960 to 1985.
Mrs. Snyder was a member of the St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Center Township, where she belonged to the Legion of Mary, the Marian Guild and the Adult Church Choir. She also had been a member of the West Sunbury Rebekah Lodge 19 and was a life member of St. Theresa the Little Flower Society of Lesieux, France, and DePere, Wis.
Since 1932, her favorite hobby was quilting. She had made many quilts for friends and family and had won several ribbons at the Big Butler Fair.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth E. Snyder of Anderson, S.C., and David O. Snyder of Butler; four granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Snyder, who died Sept. 13, 1989; an infant son, and a brother.
<B>SNYDER </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Catherine E. Snyder, who died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Extension. The Rev. Steven Neff will officiate.
