LOS ANGELES — NBC will still unveil a show about parents and children on Feb. 18 — just not the one it was planning to have.

The network has taken the unscripted series "The Baby Borrowers" off the schedule for now and will replace it with the family competition show "My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad."

NBC has also scheduled a Feb. 22 premiere for the quiz show "Amne$ia," in which players answer questions about their own lives.

"My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad" is sort of a family-friendly "Fear Factor," with fathers leading a son or daughter through a series of stunts and challenges testing the dads' physical and mental prowess, as well as how they work with their kids. Winning fathers will earn money to put toward their children's future.

Dan Cortese ("What I Like About You," "Rock Me Baby") will host the series, which will slide into the 8 p.m. spot currently held by "American Gladiators." Jon Hotchkiss ("Penn & Teller: Bulls**t!") created the show and executive produces with Mark Burnett ("Survivor"), Howard T. Owens ("American Gladiators") and Mike Nichols ("Victoria Beckham: Coming to America").

Burnett is also behind "Amne$ia," a game show hosted by Dennis Miller in which the questions come from the contestants' own lives. It will premiere at 9 p.m. Feb. 22, following "1 vs. 100," and move to its regular 8 p.m. home the following week.

"The Baby Borrowers" will be held in reserve until a later date.
