Charles "Chuck" Thompson
In loving memory of Charles "Chuck" Thompson
The "Dash" between the years
October 7, 1930 - January 30, 2001
It's been seven years since you left us, Chuck
The dash between the years is what matters to us.
You grew up in the town of Argentine
As the handsomest boy to ever be seen
With Dean, Chub and Shanty, you made such a team,
You played sports of all sorts and swam in the stream.
You married a red-head, the summer of '49
From the river town of Emlenton your choice was divine.
In the next eight years, the two of us had three,
Ron, Rob and Mindy were the first limbs on our tree.
Spring of '76 started sprouting new shoots:
Seven beautiful granddaughters were the tree's new fruits.
After retirement, you found a new game,
Cow pasture pool I think was its name.
With Dick, Jim and Mac and all of the others,
The Sunnyview Group was a band of brothers.
The dash came to its end oh so unexpectedly
On a cold winter day, on a course named Baytree...
God took the tap root from our family tree
But your dash is well remembered and always will be.
With love and respect from all those who knew you, you were the best.
