Walborn 60th anniversary
The Rev. David and Marjorie Ruth Walborn, residents at Concordia Haven II, recently celebrated their 60 wedding anniversary with a family trip to Williamsburg, Va., where they spent their honeymoon.
Walborn and the former Marjorie Galbraith were married Dec. 22, 1947, at Christian Missionary Alliance in Pittsburgh.
They have three children, David Walborn of New Windsor, N.Y.; James Walborn of Tarboro, N.C.; and Linda Corbin of Frederick, Md. They also have five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The Walborns retired in 1984 from missionary work, serving in the Belgian Congo and Africa.
Walborn is a veteran of the Navy, serving during World War II.
Mrs. Walborn worked as a schoolteacher until 1976 and as a homemaker.
The Walborns are currently members at Freeport Road Alliance Church, where Walborn serves as an elder and assistant pastor. In their spare time, they enjoy writing to their family and photography.
