Drug Legalization

Thank you. I wonder about increased addictions. When there is an addiction, people get desperate for their next fix and will steal money or items to sell to get the money for that fix. How will that change? With the legalization of the drug, will it be less expensive to be a user? I am also curious about how this will affect car insurance and auto accidents. Is Netherland similar to the states, in that everything is done to an extreme? How will having drugs being readily available affect families? In all honesty, while I appreciate the respectful way that you respond to others and respect your opinion, I would rather pay the officers to be chasing down dealers than have my children allowed the choice to use drugs. I fear for the children of addicts who will suffer due to neglect and the financial strain that this would cause. Dr., are you a parent? If this is too personal, I apologize. I wonder how you would feel if your child was an addict like my brother? Would you want them to have the drug that has so negatively impacted their life and almost killed them to be readily available to them? Would you still feel that drugs should be legal? If yes is your answer, why? Everyday is a battle for an addict, whether they are using or former users. Each time they are confronted by the drug, they have to be able to remember that the ramifications of using the drug outweigh the high that they will get by using it.
