7:54 p.m. Wednesday — Someone driving an unidentified pickup truck struck a mailbox and traveled onto the yard at the East Brewster Road home of Cynthia Allday in Center Township. The pickup was last seen headed toward Mercer Road.9:35 a.m. Wednesday — Aminivan driven by Deanna Watters, 27, of Hilliards struck two trees along Branchton Road in Center Township. Watters, who was treated at Grove City Medical Center for minor injuries, was cited for driving too fast for conditions.4 p.m. Jan. 9 — Vehicles driven by Noah Curtis, 45, and Dorothy Young, 70, both of Butler, collided on Sunset Drive in Center Township. Young was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for moderate injuries. Police said Noah was cited for a stop sign violation.Dec. 31 — Several items of construction equipment were stolen between Nov. 19 and Dec. 31 in a burglary at Squaw Valley Woodlands on Byron Center Road in Allegheny Township.
11:10 p.m. Tuesday — A hit-and-run driver faces charges after a sport utility vehicle crashed into an embankment on Cranberry Road near Irishtown Road in Pine Township. Police said the unidentified driver fled, leaving behind the wrecked vehicle.10:20 p.m. Tuesday — An SUVdriven by Angela Laillet, 22, of Sandy Lake crashed into a ditch on snow-covered Route 173 in Wolf Creek Township.9:55 p.m. Tuesday — Acar driven by David Lewandowski, no age given, of East Aurora, N.Y., and a pickup truck driven by Justin Kegarise, no age given, of New Castle collided on Route 208 in Springfield Township. Police said Lewandowski was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.
1 p.m. Wednesday — Police arrested an Allegheny County man suspected of stealing a pistol from a home in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. He also is wanted on a fugitive warrant out of Missouri.Joseph Dean Neal, 38, of Crescent remains in Lawrence County Jail on $100,000 bond while awaiting an extradition hearing that will likely send him back to Missouri for a parole violation and to face unrelated felony charges.While living in Pennsylvania, Neal, a convicted felon, assumed a false identity that enabled him to obtain a line of credit and receive medical treatment at different hospitals.The defendant last summer met a 27-year-old woman in Slippery Rock, and the two began dating. But Neal unexpectedly broke up with the woman, who last saw him Nov. 21.Police said that before Neal left, he allegedly stole a .38-caliber pistol from the woman's home. The gun has not been recovered.State police in Allegheny County arrested Neal at the undisclosed home of a new girlfriend.Authorities said Neal, who has an "extensive criminal history" from Missouri, was arraigned on charges of felons not to possess firearms, and jailed.
