Zita M. Worst King

Zita M. Worst King, 90, of Middlesex Township died Thursday under the care of the Good Samaritan Hospice, Marshall Township.

Born April 13, 1917, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of Frank and Anna Berneiser Worst.

Mrs. King and her family were founding members of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church in Glade Mills, where she was active with the Smiling Seniors and hand-embroidered baptismal cloths for hundreds of infants over the years.

She was a devoted wife and mother and spent her life working the family farm, Harvest Valley Farms, along side her husband, where she specialized in poultry science, while raising her eight beloved children.

She also was active with Royal Grange 1972 and Mars AARP.

She was the loving mother of Jean (William) Flick of West Deer, Norma (Regis) McAfee of Middlesex Township, Marie (Daniel) Wagner of Richland Township, Theresa (Armand) Latour of Ross Township, Kathy (John) Birckbichler of Minnesota, Norman A. "Tony" (Michelle) King of McCandless Township and Arthur (Kathy) and Larry (Laura) King, all of Middlesex Township; and sister of Helen Mizgorski of Reserve Township, Ann (William) Simandl of Middlesex Township, Viola Tourville and Grace (Robert) Weigand, all of Reserve Township, and Alice Zillweger of Arizona. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was the beloved wife of Norman P. King, who died March 1, 1992. She also was preceded in death by seven brothers, Francis, William, Herbert, Wilbert, Leo, Harold and Joseph Worst.

<B>KING </B>— Friends of Zita M. Worst King, who died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at <B>Schellhaas Funeral Home</B>, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, Glade Mills, with the Rev. Daniel Maurer as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Sharps Hill.Donations may be made to Holy Sepulcher Church Building Fund, 1304 E.
