Gerald E. Nysewander

Gerald E. Nysewander, 73, of Harmony died Monday.

Born in Blanchester, Ohio, April 10, 1934, he was the son of Everett T. and Virginia Mercer Nysewander.

He joined the IBM team in Johnstown as a salesman. He rose through the ranks, having a distinguished career for 33 years until his retirement in 1990.

Mr. Nysewander was an active member of the Sons of American Revolution, Christopher Gist Chapter in Butler and served as president in 2003 and 2004. He was an active member of the Lancaster Township Planning Commission.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Canna Nysewander; sons, W. Jeff Nysewander and his wife, Judy, of Alabama and J. Kyle Nysewander of McCandless Township; daughters, Leslie Haberlein and her husband, Steve, of Connecticut, Julie Nysewander and her partner, Susan Brodie, of McCandless Township; stepchildren, Elizabeth Lannon and her husband, Robert, of Illinois, Kathleen Rekowski and her husband, James, of Pine Township and Amy Howard and her husband, Gregory, of McCandless Township; grandchildren, Alexandra and Michael Nysewander, Craig, Lee and Maggie Haberlein, Jack and Alexis Lannon, James Rekowski Jr. and Jackson, Madeline and Lily Howard.

<B>NYSEWANDER </B>— Friends of Gerald E. Nysewander, who died Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Simons Funeral Home</B>, 7720 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the New Carlisle Cemetery, 10054 Musselman Road, New Carlisle, Ohio.Information also is available at www.simonsfuneralhome.com.
