Margaret Ann Maharg, 83, of Butler died at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday in the Saxony Health Center.

Born March 24, 1924, in Butler, she was the daughter of Eugene S. Sr. and Bernadette C. Turner Schaffner.

Mrs. Maharg was a homemaker as well as a secretary for the Boy Scouts of America and for the Maharg Insurance Agency. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and the C.D. of A. She was an avid bridge club player.

Mrs. Maharg is survived by her husband, Mark B. Maharg, whom she married on Feb. 27, 1946; five sons, Dennis L. and Beverly Maharg of Lititz, Mark Brian Maharg of Butler, Gary Wayne Maharg of Millersville, Dale Edward Maharg of Conestoga, and Eric B. and Candace Maharg of Butler; three daughters, Karen M. and John Feather of Morgantown, W.V., Diane C. and Jeff Kennedy of Butler, Beverly J. and Jeff Himm of Chantilly, Va.; 17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. John (Bernadette) Keener of Butler, Mrs. Jerry (Jane Francis) Silverman of Greenville, S.C.; and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Maharg was preceded in death by a brother and a great-granddaughter.

<B>MAHARG</B> — Friends of Margaret Ann Maharg, who died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St.A blessing services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Brownsdale Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Southwest Regional Office, One Station Square, The Landmark Building, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
