Tuesday — An unknown burglar or burglars possibly had a change of heart or simply forgot to take what they came for after rummaging through an apartment on West New Castle Street.Police said the suspect or suspects kicked in the front door of Anthony Onyelsesser's apartment and unplugged a Sony PlayStation 3, which was set at the top of the stairs near the door. Apolice report, however, noted that the burglars left without taking anything.Onyelsesser told police he was gone most of the day Tuesday and discovered the break-in about 6:40 p.m. when he returned home.
12:35 a.m. Tuesday — Spencer Reed, 47, of Ligonier, Westmoreland County was arrested after allegedly pushing a woman down a set of concrete steps at the Whitestown Village Apartments.Police in a news release did not identify the woman, who suffered a head injury.Reed was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, and then placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $10,000 cash bond.
11:20 a.m. Tuesday — Robert Wesa, 61, faces drug-related charges after police found marijuana at his Leasureville Road home in Winfield Township. Police said Wesa is charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.4:36 a.m. Tuesday — Gerald Honeycutt, 64, of Knox, Clarion, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 38, about a mile north of Pine Tract Road in Oakland Township.Tuesday — Undisclosed items valued more than $2,200 were stolen between midnight and 9:50 a.m. in a burglary at Neff's Country Store on Bonniebrook Road in Oakland Township.9:50 p.m. Monday — Acar driven by Eileen Mahoney, 18, of Evans City struck guardrails on both sides of Route 68 in Forward Township. Police said Mahoney was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.
12:30 a.m. Sunday — Two boys are suspected of spilling an unknown amount of grease onto Priester Alley behind KC's Cafe in Rimersburg.Police believe the boys knocked over a pair of 55-gallon drums that contained grease from the cafe. The Rimersburg Volunteer Fire Department and the borough's public works department helped clean up the spill.
11:50 p.m. Sunday — Bernard Anthony Jr., 49, of Chicora was arrested for allegedly assaulting Teri Tack, 35, of Chicora during a domestic dispute on Rohrbach Road in Bradys Bend Township.Anthony is accused of choking Tack and punching a glass door, which broke and also cut the woman's leg. Police said after the defendant was handcuffed, he refused to get into the police cruiser and became aggressive with troopers.Anthony was arraigned on charges of simple assault, harassment and resisting arrest, and placed in the Armstrong County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.
9:20 p.m. Dec. 25 — John Duncan Jr., 38, is accused of assaulting Stacy Duncan, 39, during an incident at the couple's Princeton Station Road home in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.Duncan is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, simple assault and harassment. He remains in the Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
