1:19 a.m. Monday — Police pulled over two suspected drunken drivers for speeding through the city in a pair vehicles, one behind the other.An officer saw both northbound vehicles on Chestnut Street near Jefferson Street failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicles were stopped on North Washington Street.Arrested for driving under the influence, driving too fast for conditions and a stop sign violation were Zachary T. Kennedy, 21, of Saxonburg and Evan Basehour, 21, of Renfrew. Police said Basehour was also cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.Monday — Police charged Michael Egan, 27, of Butler for bouncing a check Oct. 6 at Milo Williams Jewelers on South Main Street. Egan is charged with bad checks.7:19 a.m. Sunday — Tracy L. Powers, 37, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influenceon West Diamond Street.
Monday — Police filed drug-related and other charges against two young men after a traffic stop at 3:09 a.m. Friday on North Main Street.Accused in the case of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance are Nicholas Smith Martini, 19, of West Sunbury and Jacob B. Pflugh, 18, of Butler.Police said the men were in a car pulled over for speeding. Martini was also arrested for DUI. Pflugh and two other passengers, both juveniles, also were intoxicated, according to a police report.Martini and Pflugh, according to court documents, also are charged with corruption of minors, furnishing alcohol to minors, underage drinking and possession of drug paraphernalia.Additionally, Martini is charged with minors prohibited from driving with alcohol in their system, driving too fast for conditions, reckless driving, failing to pull over for an emergency vehicle, and a flashing signal violation.Police also cited Pflugh, the owner of the car Martini was driving, for permitting violation of title.2:40 p.m. Sunday — George A. Schaffner Jr., 41, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Whitestown Road near Eberhart Road. Police said Schaffner was also wanted on a warrant and placed in the Butler County Prison.1:10 a.m. Saturday — Frank Uhl, 49, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influenceon Hindman Road.
1:05 a.m. Monday — Asport utility vehicle driven by Lindsey R. Jones, 20, of New Castle hit an ice patch on the New Castle-Mercer Road in Springfield Township, slid off the road, struck a ditch and rolled onto its side.
