Whittenberger, McGroarty

Shawnda and Michael McGroarty

Coraopolis residents Shawnda Whittenberger and Michael McGroarty were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church in Saxonburg. The Rev. Richard Feagin officiated. A reception followed at Butler Country Club.

The bride is the daughter of Keith Whittenberger of Prospect and Dena Hochbein of Saxonburg. Parents of the bridegroom are Michael and Karen McGroarty of Pittsburgh.

The honor attendant was Tina Acquaviva of Alexandria, Va. Bridesmaids were Heather Gaston of Cranberry Township; Amber Pearson of Tallahassee, Fla.; Tanya Ambrose of Butler; and Krista Moulayianis of Munhall.

Ushers were John Becker of Dublin, Ohio; George Aspiotes of Pittsburgh; Frank Merendino of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Mark Grado of University Place, Wash.; Brad Merchant of Tempe, Ariz.; and Jordan Taffel of Shillington. The ring bearer was Blake Whittenberger of West Sunbury.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Knoch High School and 2002 graduate of Indiana (Pa.)University. She works in West Allegheny School District in Oakdale.

The bridegroom graduated in 1998 from Upper St. Clair High School and 2002 from Ohio University. He is employed at McGroarty and Bradburn Insurance in Pittsburgh.

Following a honeymoon trip to Jamaica, the couple is making their home in Coraopolis.
