3 a.m. Dec. 13 — AMack truck driven by Glenn Meyers, 34, of Harrisville struck a traffic sign and utility pole along West Jefferson Street.
12:17 p.m. Tuesday — Two students at Butler Intermediate High School face drug charges after one of the youths sold the other a generic Vicodin tablet. Police said the student that sold the hydrocodone tablet had taken the drug from a family member and brought it to school.The student who sold the drug is also accused of taking a cell phone from one of his teachers Monday, according to a police report, which noted that the phone was recovered and returned to its owner.Police said charges of possession of a controlled substance were filed in juvenile court against both students in juvenile court. Additionally, the other student is charged with theft and receiving stolen property.12:19 a.m. Tuesday — Teresa Weiland, 46, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Alameda Park Road.
Dec. 20 — Shirley L. Williams, 67, of Perkasie, Pa., was charged with theft by deception and bad checks. The charges stem from a report of a bad check received at Terra Nova House on Nov. 18.Dec. 20 — A 15-year-old male juvenile was charged with harassment after a fight at Grove City High School at 10 a.m. Dec. 17.Dec. 19 — Tabetha L. Campbell, 21, of Hermitage was cited for writing a bad check to Foster's Beer in Grove City.4:10 p.m., Dec. 19 — Sam Dovey, 19, of Grove City was injured when a car driven by Mark Copeland, 41, of Grove City ran over his foot. The accident occurred at Ivan Drive and West Main Street.Dovey was treated at Grove City Medical Center.5 p.m. Dec. 19 — Police responded to West Main Street and Highland Avenue after a motor vehicle accident. Chris Patterson, 22, of Mercer was driving westbound in the turning lane when Roger Landfair, 63, of 790 Enterprise Road crossed in the turning lane, hitting Patterson's vehicle head on. Landfair's passenger, Martha Landfair, 81, of West Palm Beach, Fla., was taken to Grove City Medical Center after she experienced chest pains. Landfair received a traffic violation citation.Dec. 17 — Carrie Lynn Reid, 30, of 115 Muddy Creek Drive was charged with two counts of bad checks and receiving stolen property. The incidents took place at Grove City Federal Credit Union. The victim is Barbara Graham, 63, of the same address. Reid issued and cashed two stolen checks belonging to Graham.Early morning Dec. 8 — Someone damaged a door leading to the apartments at 139½ S. Broad St. The door was apparently kicked, causing damage to the doorknob. Jean Ithen of Grove City owns the property. Anyone with information is asked to contact Grove City Police Department.Dec. 6 — A tan SUV or truck ran over a stop sign at the intersection of Greenwood Drive and Poplar Street. Anyone with information is asked to call Grove City Police Department.
4:30 p.m. Thursday — Two people were injured following a head-on collision in Center Township.Police said the crash occurred when cars driven by Robert Barcaskey, 75, of Gibsonia and Christine Cartwright, 49, of Butler collided on Route 8 near Mercer Road.Police said Cartwright suffered minor injures. David Cartwright, 52, of Butler, a passenger in her car, suffered moderate injuries.Barcaskey, police said, was cited for not yielding to oncoming traffic.Thursday — An unknown thief between midnight Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday stole copper pipe and a spool of wire from a Reibold Road home in Forward Township.3:55 p.m. Wednesday — Sport utility vehicles driven by Judith Bish, 53, of Templeton, Armstrong County, and Susan Callihan, 33, of Chicora collided on Route 38 in Washington Township. Police said Bish was cited for a stop sign violation.3:50 p.m. Tuesday — Cars driven by Dustin Hockenberry, 24, of Harmony and Benjamin Pellicano, 71, of EllwoodCity. Lawrence County collided on Route 422 in Franklin Township.
Sunday — Unknown vandals between noon Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday sprayed black paint on the Union High School building on Baker Street in Madison Township.Saturday — Aspeaker box with three 10-inch MTXspeakers and a 300-watt Jensen amplifier were stolen between Dec. 13 and Saturday during a burglary at a Main Street garage in Rimersburg. Barry Kriebel of Rimersburg owns the stolen property, valued at $280.
8:10 a.m. Tuesday — Cars driven by Albert Fenrick, 79, and Walter Martyna, 56, both of Mercer, collided at Irishtown Road and Route 58 in Pine Township.10:45 a.m. Sunday — Lisa Nagle, no age given, of Grove City suffered minor injuries when her car struck a tree along Route 208 near Nutt Road in Pine Township. Police said Nagle was cited for driving too fast for conditions.6:30 p.m. Dec. 11 — Joseph R. Littleton, 27, was arrested for allegedly assaulting Mindy Baker, 20, during a domestic dispute at the couple's East Main Street home in Pine Township. Littleton is charged with simple assault, harassment and furnishing alcohol to a minor.
