The Christmas Cantata will be presented by the choir at 10 a.m. Sunday at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68.

Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, Butler Township, will host a unity service at 10 a.m. Dec. 30. There will be no Saturday evening service that weekend. Participants should take a bell to help ring in the New Year.The Covenant Food Cupboard needs donations of condiments, canned vegetables, meats, soups, baking mixes, pantry staples and spaghetti and sauce. The items may be placed in the carts inside the lobby doors.

Cross Culture Youth Ministry at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., will host a Holla Day with social time, fun and food from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 27.There will be no Children's Quizzing or choir practice Sunday or Dec. 30. There will also be no Wednesday evening dinner or activities this week or Jan. 2.

The church school of Concord Presbyterian Church, 625 Hooker Road, West Sunbury, will present its annual Christmas pageant at the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service.The final rehearsal for the Christmas Eve Cantata will be at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Christmas Past and Present, a family Sunday school program for children and adults, will be held from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Sunday at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.

The Christmas Joy offering will be received during the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St.Kang-Yup Na, associate professor in the department of religion, history, philosophy and classics at Westminster College, will end his series for the Seekers Class Sunday. The class meets at 9:30 a.m. in the Assembly Room.

The youth of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faithway-Fared Drive, will present a Christmas program at 6 p.m. Sunday. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow.

The Christmas Joy offering will be received during both Sunday services at Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia.There will be no youth group on Sunday.There will be no R.O.C.K. on Wednesday.The church office will be closed Monday through Jan. 1

The council of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., has moved its meeting to 7 p.m. today.All newsletter items are due to the office Friday.Members of the congregation are encouraged to wear red and white to the Sunday service.A birthday party for Jesus will be held during Sunday school classes this week."A Taste of Grace" cookbooks will be available for purchase after the Sunday morning service. The cost is $10.There will be no Youth Group meeting this week.There will be no Faith Shappers meeting Wednesday.

The Rev. McWilson Atakro will deliver his farewell sermon during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. Atakro and his wife, Belief, will be honored at a reception hosted by the Mission Task Force Committee following the service. The Atakros will return to their home in Accra, Ghana on Wednesday.There will be no Sunday school classes this week. A volunteer to staff Children's Church is needed for the third Sunday of each month.All contributions for 2007 must be received by December 31 to be credited to the 2007 calendar year. The budget catch-up campaign contributions are also requested by December 31.

Beth Ackelson and Edith McCandless will provide music for the 10 a.m. Sunday service at GraceWay Community Church, Center Township Elementary School, Mercer Road. The fourth Sunday of Advent, will be celebrated. Ron, MaryAnn and Nicholas Mahan will light the fourth Advent Candle.GraceWay Youth will not meet Wednesday.

Mars United Presbyterian Church, Crowe Ave., Mars, will celebrate Christmas Sunday with the presentation of the Christmas Cantata "Holy Night of Miracles" with one service at 11 a.m. Christmas Poinsettias with adorn the church with memorials/honors of loved ones. The fourth Sunday of Advent candle lighting and reading will be done by the Carpenter family. Sunday School will be at 9:45 a.m.

A fellowship time for young adults will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 Old West 422, Franklin Township. Breakfast snacks will be served.

The offices of New Life Christian Ministries, South Butler Primary School, Knoch Road, Saxonburg, will be closed for Christmas on Monday to Wednesday.Relevant Student Ministries will have an overnight event starting at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 29 at the home of Bill and Margaret Gebhart and ending after worship Dec. 30. The choir of Nixon United Methodist Church, Airport Road, Penn Township, will present the Christmas Cantata "Let There be Light!" at the 11 a.m. Sunday service. The Christmas message will be narrated by David Napora and will feature solos by choir members.

The Christ's birthday observance offering will be received during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at the North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext. Cliff and Ruth Cooper will light the fourth Advent candle.The church office will be closed Monday and Tuesday.Wednesday evening programs have been canceled until Jan. 9.

The church school of the North Washington Presbyterian Church, 714 Fairview Road, North Washington, will present the Christmas musical, "Songs of Christmas" by Pam Anderson at the 11 a.m. Sunday service. Refreshments will follow in the social room.

During worship Sunday, the choir of Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will present its cantata "Let Us Adore Him."The worship committee will meet after worship this week.Prince of Peace LutheranPrince of Peace Lutheran Church, 60 Rochester Road, Freedom, will host a traditional service at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Rider Lutheran Church, Rider Church Road, Center Township, will present a Christmas program at the 10 a.m. service Sunday.

The ABBA Kids Choir will present Christmas Comes to Lonestar Gulch during the Sunday service at Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St. A reception will follow in the Memorial Room.A Youth Group reunion has been planned for 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Atria's Restaurant in Wexford. All youth graduates are invited and should make reservations with Maddie King.The flower calendar for 2008 is hanging in the Narthex. Members can sign up to donate flowers in honor or in memory of someone. Donors can take the flowers home after the service or leave them to be given to a member in the hospital or in a nursing home.

The Eve Bible study group of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., has canceled its December meeting. The January meeting will be a holiday dinner at the Rose Haven Bed and Breakfast at 605 North Main St. The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Jan. 15. Reservations are due to Anne Ferguson by Jan. 6.Old Christmas Cards are being collected in the church office to make ornaments for shut-ins.

St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Our Lady of Guadalupe, 101 W. High St., Kittanning, will celebrate Mass at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Christmas Day.St. Peter's episcopalHoly Communion will be served at the 8:15 a.m. Sunday service at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St. The The 10:30 a.m. service will include morning prayer.

St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, will celebrate Mass at 9 a.m. Christmas Day.

Summit Presbyterian Church, Caldwell Drive, Jefferson Township, will host a Christmas movie night at 6 p.m. Friday at the Christian Community Outreach building 650 Saxonburg Road. Participants should take a snack to share and comfortable seating. Six Christmas movies will be shown.There will be no youth group meeting Sunday.The church office will be closed Tuesday.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be shared at the 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday services at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township.Funds from the purchase of Giant Eagle gift cards benefit the programs of the youth ministry. They are available for purchase in the narthex after most services or in the church office.The 2008 flower calendar is posted in the narthex. Dedications for altar flowers will now be $15.Trinity has three pianos in disrepair. A musical program, featuring the Coventri Choir, youth choir and handbell choir will be held during the Sunday service at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave., Butler Township.Carolers should meet at 5 p.m. Saturday at the church.Cost for sanctuary flowers for 2008 is $15. A new flower chart is posted in the narthex. Flowers can be purchased in honor or as a memorial to loved ones.

The VPC Chancel Choir will provide music at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia, Children's Church will be available for children ages 3 to 8.There will be no Mom's Morning Out on Wednesday.

The West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church, 215 East Church St., West Sunbury, will host a Christmas party for Sunday school classes at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the social hall.During the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service, the Chancel Choir will lead the service with a Christmas Cantata. The children will also share in song during this service.White Oak Springs PresbyThe children of the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, 102 Shannon Road, Renfrew, will present "Arriving in Bethlehem," during the 9:45 a.m. Sunday service. The Christmas Joy Offering will be received during the service.

Sunday school students of Zion Lutheran Church, 266 Zion Church Road, Concord Township, will perform the snowed-out Christmas play, "Gold, Frankincense, Myrrh and a Ducky" at 11 a.m. Sunday. A potluck lunch will follow.
