SV hockey takes section lead with win

Defenseman Rich Schutte scored the game-winning goal with 1:40 remaining in the third period as the Seneca Valley HighSchool hockey team moved into first place with a 3-2 win over Meadville Tuesday night.

Sam Jarrett and Brandon Platt also scored goals for the Raiders (6-2), who took over the top spot in Section 4 Class AAA of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League.

Goalie Scott VanHoren ran his record to 4-0 by stopping 20 shots for Seneca Valley.

North Allegheny 6, Butler 0 — The Golden Tornado were shut out by Section 4 Class AAA rival North Allegheny to fall to 2-7.
