Christmas Parade

For many years in the 90's I participated in the Spirit of Christmas parade as a member of the Butler Band and then marched again for the East Butler Sparks. This year my daughter and I attended the parade under very cold conditions. We greatly enjoyed the many creative floats, emergency units, and bands.

I was just wondering where the high school marching bands were? We greatly enjoyed seeing the Butler Band and AC Valley, but I must say the parade was missing the other local high school bands.

When I marched in the 90's besides the Butler Senior and Intermediate Bands, one would see Moniteau, Karns City, Slippery Rock, Knoch, and Seneca Valley Marching Bands. Then there were many small local groups like East Butler Sparks, Meridian Fife and Drum, Robinettes, and North Washington Flame and Flickers. I realize the smaller groups of Butler is fading away, but I thought high school marching bands were still alive and marching.

Thanks again to Butler Band, Flames and Flickers, Vagabonds, and the AC Valley Marching Band for attending and entertaining the large group of spectaters.
