Lily Grenci scored 26 points as the Mars girls basketball team opened its season with a 55-46 victory over North Allegheny at the latter's tip-off tournament Friday night.

The 6-foot-1 junior sank all eight of her free throw attempts.

Ellen Kenitz contributed 13 points for the Planets, who led by one point at halftime and by three points after three quarters.

Jackie Lang scored 17 points and Julie Figan added 14 for North Allegheny.
