Maryanne Barr graduated from the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, recently, earning a doctorate of pharmacy degree and licensure from the Virginia Board of Pharmacy.While at the university, she was named to the dean's list each semester and received a GCU Merit and Community Service Scholarship, an International Order of King's Daughters and Sons Health Career Scholarship, James R. Lilly Croucher Scholarship, John and Josephine Calasibetta Scholarship, Kiwanis International Community Service Scholarship, Louis and Monica DeFazio Scholarship and the Martin Daffner Endowed Scholarship.Barr also received the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Scholarship, the Robert C. Byrd Merit Scholarship, Rutgers University Merit Scholarship, Ruth Varner Otto Merit Scholarship, Walgreens Scholarship and the Wal-Mart Scholarship.She was also a member of the Rho Chi honorary.The daughter of James and Adella Barr of Mars, she is a 2001 graduate of Seneca Valley High School. She also completed a one-year residency with Sentara Healthcare System.Barr is currently employed as a pharmacist with Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Hampton Roads, Va.
