'Pot'

lisaweisenstein@embarqmail.com

I agree with Adalja..(and almost vomited in disbelief of such concession) but I do agree; legalize pot. But let's face it, the engagement to legalize for "medicinal" purpose is more of a crock than Hillary and Hsu's financial liaisons. If an individual chooses to turn on, tune in, and drop out-so be it. Burnouts are burnout not because another has forced them to alter their conscious mind, it is because burnouts choose to transmute into incognizant wastes of flesh. Point is; NO burnout has ever amounted to anything but their own aspiration they have placed upon themselves. Which is wasting what talents they may have for some sort of a psychedelic frolic. They are about as useful as I am politically correct. These idiots, unless they have robbed or maimed, have committed no crime against humanity save to their own family. If I had the choice of my tax dollars being spent on convicting and jailing (hopefully executing) murderers, rapists, and pedophiles- or prosecuting and housing harmless idiots guilty of making their head feel funny, I much rather contribute to the deaths and imprisonment of murdering child-stalking perverts. The States will legalize when and if it can fiscally benefit therefrom. But in the future will SSI supplement these new addicts as it does alcoholics? Will class action lawsuits be filed against manufacturers likened unto Phillip Morris? Will the medical community suffer insult over their new miracle tonic as it did with codeine elixirs, heroin, and cocain? I am curious to hear what people think upon about this subject-especially parents.

To you specifically Dr. Adalja: The Constitution is no more than a strategic entourage in this instance. Likewise with many instances in the past. A scape goat, if you will, used to fall back upon because constitutionalism sounds good. But in reality it is a State's issue, federally (and thus Constitutionally) intervened by interstate commerce. Remember, the Supreme Court shifted balance and is now prone to interpret the Constitution based upon the Constitution-not some overseas or European law as the liberal court concluded decisions on in the past. Omitt the Constitutional hijinks for the time being.
