Charges against Pgh. officer dropped
PITTSBURGH — Charges have been dropped against a veteran Pittsburgh police officer who was accused of fighting with his ex-girlfriend, a retired officer, outside the city's first police ball in 70 years.
District Attorney's spokesman Mike Manko says the charges against 48-year-old Officer Anthony Charles were dropped because prosecutors determined he was not the aggressor.
Charges remain against Tracey Williamson, a 44-year-old retired officer.
Police say the argument occurred about 10:45 p.m. Oct. 25.
Williamson's preliminary hearing was postponed Thursday. Manko didn't say if the charges against her might also be dropped.
