CHICORA — The Chicora Volunteer Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary will host the annual Christmas in Chicora event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Chicora.
The event, sponsored by NexTier Bank and other local businesses, will feature a craft show and special displays and sales at area businesses.

Couples planning to be married during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend should plan to apply for their marriage licenses soon. Due to the state-required waiting period, the last day to apply for a marriage license in time for a holiday weekend wedding will be Friday. All licenses must be picked up by 4 p.m. Nov. 21.Marriage licenses are available at the Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphan's Court office at the Butler County Government Center. The following turkey parties have been announced:</B>The Sucarcreek Township Volunteer Fire Department Turkey Party will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Fire Hall, Rodgers and Kittanning Hollow roads.The event will include gun and gift basket raffles.<B>The Chicora American Legion </B>will host a turkey raffle from 8 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Twenty-five turkeys will be given away.
ZELIENOPLE — The Zelienople Historical Society is now offering tickets for its Christmas Home Tour, to begin at 9 a.m. Dec. 1.Tickets are available by mail or in person from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays at the Passavant House, 243 S. Main St.No tickets will be sold the day of the tour.
