Joyce C. Phillips
Joyce Carol Phillips, 66, of Butler died Thursday in Cowpens, S.C., where she was currently living.
She was born Sept. 26, 1941, in Chicora, the daughter of the late Carol A. Riggle and the late Eleanor Lineman Riggle.
She enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, crocheting, parasailing with her grandson and going to amusement parks.
She is survived by her husband, George J. Phillips of Cowpens, S.C., formerly of Butler, whom she married Sept. 4, 1976; four daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Ronda) Shilling of Sandy Lake, Mrs. George (Lori) Himes of Emlenton, Mrs. Bruce (Teresa) Griffin of Beaver Falls, and Mrs. Denzel (Julie) Hammonds of Cowpens, S.C.; a stepdaughter, Michelle Phillips of Butler; two sons, Daniel and Barb Leitem of Chicora and Curtis and Shara Leitem of West Sunbury; a stepson, Michael Phillips of Butler; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Dick (Donna) Twilliger of Parker; a brother, Gail and Bonnie Riggle of Kittanning; and her dog, Buster.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, two great-grandsons, a stepson, a stepdaughter, a stepdaughter-in-law and two brothers.
<B>Phillips</B> — Friends of Joyce Carol Phillips, who died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Y<B>oung Funeral Home</B>, Butler. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gordon K. Powell officiating.
