SLIPPERY ROCK — A book fair will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Slippery Rock Elementary School, 470 N. Main St.The event will include a presentation by Kathy Strickland, an English professor at Slippery Rock University, at 6:30 p.m. and presentations by community members throughout the evening.

Couples planning to be married during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend should plan to apply for their marriage licenses soon. Due to the state-required waiting period, the last day to apply for a marriage license in time for a holiday weekend wedding will be Nov. 16. All licenses must be picked up by 4 p.m. Nov. 21.Marriage licenses are available at the Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphan's Court office at the Butler County Government Center.
