Covenant PresbySunday will be Stewardship Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. First BaptistFirst Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will be among congregations participating in a work day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Worth Township. A paintball event also will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the camp.Shepherds Sunday will be observed this weekend. The featured speaker for the 9:45 a.m. Sunday school session and 10:55 a.m. service will be Mike McLaughlin, a representative for the Shepherds Baptist Ministries to the mentally disadvantaged at Union Grove, Wis.An Apples of Gold women's Bible study is set for 7 to 9:30 p.m. Monday at the home of Debbie Broad.The Women's Missionary Fellowship will meet Tuesday at the Baptist Youth Center. Projects will include preparing cards and pot holders for the Shepherds ministry, cutting squares for quilts and packaging cookies and candy for college students and service personnel.

First English LutheranThe next healing service will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.

First U.M.Divine Ridge will perform at the God's Country Service at 7 p.m. Saturday in Epworth Center at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St.Pick-up for nut roll orders will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 15.Food and monetary donations for Thanksgiving baskets are now being collected. Donations of instant potatoes, canned vegetables, boxed stuffing, packets of turkey gravy, cake mixes and gelatin are needed. Glade Run U.P.The Deacons of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday.Boy Scout Troop 58 will host its annual pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church. Proceeds go toward Christmas gifts for local families in need.The Youth Group will travel to Grove City College Nov. 15 to attend the Silver Ring Thing Christian-based sexual abstinence program. St. John U.C.C.Veterans will be recognized during the 8:35 Alive and 11 a.m. Sunday services at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City. A congregational meeting will follow the 11 a.m. service.A Christmas festival workshop begins at 6:30 p.m. today. The purpose is to make props and decorations for the Festival of Christmas Music set for Nov. 30 and Dec 1 and 2.

St. Mark's Evangelical LutheranRenovations have been completed at St Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St.A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Nov. 18 for Carl Hollenbaugh, the former church organist who died Sept. 14. Areception will follow the service.Due to the annual meeting, Sunday School will be held from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Sunday and worship services will be combined at 10 a.m. in Schramm Hall. The annual meeting will follow the service and will include the election of council and nominating committee members and voting on the 2008 budget. Activities will be available for youth age two through grade eight. A light luncheon will be served in Fellowship Hall after the meeting.The Jehoiada Chest offering will be received during weekend services. Donors should use the designated envelope in their offering envelopes.The Youth Group will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday to help decorate and plan the float for the Spirit of Christmas Parade. The float committee is seeking volunteers to be in the parade Nov. 23. Participants will meet at 8 a.m. in the parking lot of Westminster Presbyterian Church in America. Not all members will be able to ride the float, but some can walk alongside to sing and hand out candy canes.

St. Peter's EpiscopalThe featured musician for Wednesday's noontime organ recital at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St., will be Beverly Antis of Covenant United Presbyterian Church.Non-perishable food items are needed for the Covenant Food Bank. The Sunday school youth seek to form a line of food reaching from the church to the Food Cupboard next door.Veteran's Day will be observed at both services Sunday.
