The Monarchs football team of Butler Junior High School celebrated a 5-0 season in the fall of 1970 with a dinner at the Butler Cubs Hall. The team went 4-0-1 the year before. Recognized for their outstanding performance were, from left, seated, John Blicha, most improved defensive performer; Scott Bayer, best all-around player; John Leyland, best defensive back; and Bill O'Donnell, best offensive back; and standing, Ron Uram, most improved offensive back; Ken Clark, Most Valuable Player; Paul McCafferty, best offensive lineman; John Tilko, best defensive lineman; and Paul Lumley, best linebacker.
