Peter J. Santypal, 82, of Abilene Lane, formerly of Middlesex Township and Mars, died at 12:29 a.m. Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Sandy Swierk of Valencia.

Born Jan. 12, 1925, in Evans City, he was the son of Joseph Santypal and Mary Ann Milatich.

Mr. Santypal was a retired heavy equipment mechanic out of Operating Engineer Local 66 in Monroeville.

He attended the White Oak Spring Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Santypal was a veteran in the Navy serving in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora.

Mr. Santypal is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Sandy L. and Aleck "I.I." Swierk and Linda K. and Ronald Mathews, all of Valencia; two stepsons, Earl Kull and Richard "Dick" and his wife, Shirley, Kull, all of Cuyahoga, Ohio; two granddaughters and their husbands, Jodi and Bill Beggan of Saxonburg and Melissa and Rich Bitzer of Valencia; one grandson and his wife, Ronald and Katie Mathews of Atlanta, Ga.; six step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and eight step-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Santypal was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Grace Swierk Santypal, who died on Aug. 26, 2005; four sisters, and eight brothers.

<B>Santypal</B> — Friends of Peter J. Santypal, who died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be held at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Lee Dreyer of White Oaks Springs Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.Officers and members of the VFW Post 249 and the American Legion Post 778 will conduct military graveside services.Information and a private guest book is available at www.thompson-miller.com
