I feel the teachers should be lucky to be getting paid what they are. And where is this 6% increase supposed to come from? The tax payers, most of whom are having enough trying to manage now. And what about the senior citizens who no longer have children in school but still have to pay school taxes. And how much of an increase are they going to get this year? 2%. And the teachers want 6% and have refused 3 or 4%? I, for one, would trade checks with the lowest paid teacher any time. I would feel like a millionaire if I had $30,000 a year to live on.
