Dr. Adalja, All know you work for the “greater liberal good,” which defines itself (to us common folk ) as hog vomit. Here’s a parent’s perspective of the minor’s patient doctor privilege: it doesn’t exist!! Not in the classroom. Not out of the classroom. Not in the Dr.’s office (which for the minor would be their pediatrician ) and certainly not in a setting offering abortive amnesty from parental authority, which is what the liberal whack-nuts want. (Yes, we’ve read the ACLU’s proposal of Confidential Healthcare for Minors.) Decisions regarding the healthcare of a minor child NECESSITATE the involvement of the parents. I’ve yet to meet an eleven-year old child who possess the maturity to wisely assess the consequences of life, let alone independently assume sexual responsibility as an everyday part of fifth grade life. Yet somehow Dr. Adalja has figured out that children are even more prudent than parents; something that the rest of us are unable to comprehend. Excuse us, Dr. Adalja if we cannot obtain the omniscient rays of liberalism or your medical transcendence. The light that it offers must be buried somewhere in the depths of insanity and perversion; two places where in which responsible parents avoid bringing their children for a “check-up.”
