3:14 a.m. Saturday — Michael Gilliland, 31, of Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting a 26-year-old woman during a domestic dispute at her Bocce home. Gilliland is charged with simple assault and harassment; he is free after posting $3,000 bail.1:36 a.m. Saturday — David Hodill, 20, of Evans City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on New Castle Road at the Lyndora exit. Police said Hodill was driving a motorcycle and allegedly traveling 85 mph in a 55 mph zone.
8:27 a.m. Sunday — Acar driven by Jason Green, 35, of Butler and a sport utility vehicle driven by Diana Kaufman, 42, collided on St. Wendelin Road in Oakland Township. Police said Green was cited for failure to yield.3:05 a.m. Sunday — Jamie McGuire, 19, of Ellwood City, Lawrence County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at the South Rock Apartments on Kiester Road in Slippery Rock Township.Sunday — Someone between 6:30 and 9 p.m. took a log splitter on Route 19 in Lancaster Township. Ernest Russo of Wexford owns the stolen property.Russo told police he was on Route 19, about one mile south of Portersville, when the log splitter he was towing had a flat tire. He left it on the side of the road and when he returned it was gone.1:40 a.m. Oct. 10 — James R. Frazer, 24, of Petrolia was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his car struck an embankment, utility pole and a house along North Main Street in Chicora. Police said Ron Pistorius owns the house.Oct. 10 — A 12-year-old girl was caught during school hours with a small amount of suspected marijuana at the Slippery Rock Middle School in Slippery Rock Township. Police said the Slippery Rock girl, who they did not identify, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.Oct. 4 — An unknown thief Oct. 3 or 4 broke into four vehicles in Washington Township and stole items. Taken from the vehicles on Oneida Valley and Branchton roads were several compact discs, a digital camera, iPod and coins.
Oct. 6 — Colleen R. Barger, 49, of Parker was arrested for driving under the influence after she was found asleep behind the wheel of her car on Route 368 in Perry Township.
12:55 a.m. Sunday — Benjamin Ace, 33, of Parker was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 268 in Emlenton, Venango County.State Police, Kittanning2:15 a.m. Saturday — Lorrie Lynn Foley, 51, of Woodbridge, Va., was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 268 near Boltz Road in East Franklin Township.4:05 p.m. Thursday — Tory McNaughton, 21, ofEast Brady was cited for careless driving following a chain-reaction crash at Routes 68 and 4002 in East Brady Township.Police said the crash occurred when McNaughton's car struck the rear of another car driven by James George, 64, of East Brady. The collision pushed George's vehicle into the rear of a third car driven by Terry Ealey, 60, of Bruin.12:01 a.m. Oct. 13 — Apickup truck driven by Edward Yanik, 22, of Kittanning struck the rear of a car on Route 422 in Kittanning Township. The collision pushed the car, driven by James Miller Jr., no age given, of Shelocta into the rear of another pickup driven by Kevin Boben, 43, of West Sunbury.<B>State Police, Mercer</B>2:30 a.m. Monday — Acar driven by Cynthia Wilson, 21, of Spring Creek, Warren County, struck a deer laying on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township.1:40 a.m. Sunday — Acar driven by Sean Turpin, 21, of State College, Centre County, struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Liberty Township.
1 a.m. Saturday — Richard T. Rodgers, no age given, of Ellwood City was seriously injured when the car he was driving struck a house at Center Church and Fairview School roads in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.Police said Rodgers' car, before hitting the house, also struck a pickup truck parked in another driveway. The crash remains under investigation.12:54 a.m. Saturday — Wesley Allen Newton, 55, of New Castle was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Cooper Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.
