Edith A. 'Edie' Clever

Edith A. "Edie" Clever, 85, of Butler died at 4:15 a.m. Friday at Evie's Country Care.

Born in Butler, Sept. 30, 1921, she was the daughter of John and Angelia DeSantis Christofano.

She was a homemaker and had worked in the shell shop at Pullman Standard during World War II. She also had been cashier in the cafeteria at Butler High School and had worked at the Kroger grocery store.

Mrs. Clever was an avid card player.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

Surviving are a son, Henry I. Clever III and his wife, Sherry, of Renfrew; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Tammy) Blatt of Fenelton; a sister, Mrs. Lena O'Hara of Butler; five grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

Her husband, Henry Clever Jr., died Feb. 13, 1980. She also was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters.

<B>CLEVER </B>— Friends of Edith A. "Edie" Clever, who died Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the <B>martin funeral home</B>, 429 Center Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Center Avenue, with the Rev. James Dolan officiating. Burial will be at the Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.The Bereavement Group of St. Michael Parish will hold a scriptural wake service at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
