Hockenberry

Clarence "Bud" S. Hockenberry Jr., 87, of East Butler, formerly of Prospect, died Thursday at the VA Medical Center.

Born Feb. 23, 1920, in Ellwood City, he was the son of Clarence S. Hockenberry Sr. and Euphemia Hoffman.

He was retired from Armco, where he was a foreman in the pollution control department.

He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp. and the Air Force, having served in World War II and the Korean War.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Butler and the William H. Miller Masonic Lodge in Butler.He enjoyed gardening, lapidary and reading.He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Kim (Jeanne M.) Cherry of Prospect; a son, Dale Hockenberry of East Butler; four grandchildren, Maj. Christopher D. Hockenberry, currently serving in Iraq, Mandi Hockenberry of Hudson, N.Y., Derrek D. Cherry, currently serving in the Air Force in Texas, and Natali S. Cherry of Prospect; a great-grandchild, Madison A. Hockenberry of North Carolina; and a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Donna Yarger) McCall of Butler;He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie A. Bartlett Hockenberry, whom he married May 4, 1946, and who died Feb. 16, 1988.

<B>HOCKENBERRY</B>— Visitation for Clarence "Bud" S. Hockenberry Jr., who died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Jay Bryan Funeral Home</B>, 442 Main St., Prospect.Funeral services and burial will be private.
