Birth Controllers

There has been a school board in the state of Maine that passed a resolution to give oral birth control to the students in King Middle School, without parents' consent or notification. There are frequent media responses saying that this gives eleven years old six graders the idea to override parents sex values and will impart a go have sex attitude. This article will discuss the many issues that have not been debated by the media. First, giving hormone pills to growing early adolescents have not been effectively studied. The implication of increasing one child's hormone level while they are still developing is a gross miscarriage of authority. Second, if a child already has sex at this age and risks pregnancy how is this child going to be responsible to take a pill that is required daily. There will be no adult there everyday to administer the drug. Remember that parents are not informed and are not part of this process. Therefore it is negligible of the school board to assume that an irresponsible child will take a pill everyday, which is required for effective birth control. Children are not at school everyday. Thirdly, there has been no mention of how hormone treated children are to deal with sexually transmitted diseases. It assumed that this negligent school board has considered some sort of STD session be gone through when a child is given these birth control pills. Fourth, I lack the advice on the issue of how condoms and this school district are viewed, particularly with this resolution. The provoking question to condone double birth control methods at these ages is relatively ignorant as is neglecting the incidence of enduring life-long sexually transmitted diseases. Fifth, involves a culture that has a movement that does not want women to be viewed as sex objects. The maturation of children at this level towards sex should be questioned as a view of object attainment and stature rather than a relationship. This should be asked because the prevalence of rape and how it is treated in this Country is a disgrace. Even in a culture where sex is casual minors should not be exposed to this emancipated concept. Lastly, it is my understanding that sex under the age of fifteen is statutory rape. Also in reference to statutory rape, at fifteen, the consenting partner can be no more than seventeen or it is rape. This indicates that the school board is guilty by promoting sex at an illegal age. If any birth control pill is given to a child that is fourteen or younger that adult is to be due in court for prosecution.
