Lois L. Whitesell
Lois L. Whitesell, 84, of Meridian Road died at 5 a.m. Monday at her home after a brief illness.
Born April 14, 1923, in Butler, she was the daughter of Samuel Whitesell and Vera B. Long.
Miss Whitesell was an employment interviewer for Pennsylvania Bureau of Employment Security and retired May 15, 1983. Previously, she had been a proofreader at the Butler Eagle.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She also belonged to the Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees and the Crimson Chapeau Cuties Red Hat Society.
She was a life member of the Tanglewood Senior Center, a founder and member of the Butler County Humane Society, a founder and former member of the Butler Cat Fanciers and a former member of the Meridian Area Retirees Club.
Miss Whitesell's other interests were cats, music boxes and traveling.
Surviving are two nieces, Linda Nemeth and her husband, Douglas, and Terry L. Whitesell, all of Butler; two nephews, Robert Bekish of Pittsburgh and, Tom Whitesell and his wife, Patty, of Butler; eight great-nieces and great-nephews; and seven great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, F. Evelyn Bekish; and two brothers, Robert C. and J. Ralph Whitesell.
<B>WHITESELL</B> — There will be no public visitation. Services for Lois L. Whitesell, who died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, will be held at 12:15 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev.
