message-In a letter to the editor a Lisa Wilson stated the teachers were offered a 700 per year raise and then had to pay 50 dollars a month for health care or 600 dollars. then a 500 dollar deductable. She said do the math and quoted 1100 the teachers would have to pay a year for healthcare it would make them lose 400 dollars. She said they should be treated fair as they earned it. Well heres my 2 cents. Its about time they start paying their fair share for healthcare. I paid all my life and now that Im retired I just read in the paper that I was going to get a raise in my Social Security benifits for a cost of living increase of 2.4 percent. Nice however at the same time I recieved a letter stating medicare costs are going to increase 3.1 percent. There goes my raise and I did work hard all my life and am still getting the short end of the stick. funny how Im out .7 percent of my income and there is nothing I can do about it where as if you are a good teacher go find another school willing to pay you more than you think you are worth and pay all your health costs and let the lower class pick up the tab to the Drs. its the american way
