4:34 p.m. Monday — Charles Weitner, 44, of Butler was charged with misdemeanor retail theft for allegedly taking merchandise out of Wal-Mart without paying.Monday — A vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Butler man and a vehicle driven by Kimberly Geagan, 50, of Butler collided on New Castle Road bear Campus Lane. No injuries were reported.

Wednesday — Sally Lee Grates, 32, of Adrian, Pa., was charged with retail theft and false reports to law enforcement after allegedly stealing unspecified items from the JC Penney Department Store at Clearview Mall, Center Township, on Jan. 15 and subsequently giving a false name to police.2:45 p.m. Tuesday — Preston R. Bartmas, 23, of Butler was charged with theft by unlawful taking, possession of drug paraphernalia and a former convict possessing a firearm after his brother, Benjamin Lechien, 21, also of Butler, reported Bartmas had stolen a 12-gauge shotgun from his bedroom. Police report finding various drug paraphernalia in Bartmas' bedroom. Bartmas was jailed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 cash-surety bond.8:40 a.m. Tuesday — William D. Richards, 32, of Slippery Rock was arrested for allegedly making a false police report.9:52 p.m. Monday — William D. Richards, 32, of Slippery Rock was charged with accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property, careless driving, driving on right side of road and restraint systems/occupant protection violations after his vehicle struck a utility pole on Shields Road, Mercer Township, and allegedly fled.Sunday — Someone damaged a sign at Trader Horn, Washington Township between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. Anyone with information should call police at 724-284-8100.Saturday — Someone stole pain medication from the home of a 61-year-old woman on Centerville Pike, Slippery Rock between 10 a.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Sunday — A car driven by Michael Simmons, 40, of Grove City and a car driven by Robert Hawkins, 26, of Franklin collided on Route 173 in Wolf Creek Township. The impact sent Hawkins' car into a tree. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not injured.Saturday — Someone broke the taillights of a car owned by Pamela Jones, 38, of Grove City while it was parked outside the Landmark Bar on Old Ash Road in Springfield Township between 11:30 p.m. Friday and 12:30 a.m. Saturday.Oct. 8 — Someone cut a rear tire of a vehicle owned by Teresa Ann Foust-Elder of Grove City while it was parked at the Parkview Mobile Home Park in Pine Township between 9:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 8.5:12 a.m. Oct. 5 — An SUV driven by Alisha Cusick, 27, of Grove City went off Route 58 in Findley Township, rolling over several times before hitting a utility pole. Cusick, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by Superior Ambulance to Grove City Medical Center for treatment. She was cited for a lane violation.1:15 a.m. Aug. 30 — A car driven by Jon Scott, age unavailable, struck a tree of Route 965 in Worth Township. No injuries were reported. He was not wearing a seat belt.

10:43 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Brianna Bellotti, 24, of Marble, Pa., struck the rear of a car driven by Charles Wilson, 73, of Butler that was slowing to make a left turn on Route 66 in Knox Township. No injuries were reported.Monday — Someone stole money from Patti Hamilton's purse at Medardo Estates in Rimersburg about 3 p.m.Sunday — Someone stole a 20-inch yellow Next bicycle from the residence of Daniel Dubrock at 1369 Lawsonham Road in Madison Township between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The bicycle, worth $75, has black foot pegs and black three-spoke BMX-type rims.Friday — Someone stole a 3- to 4-month-old female black Boxer puppy from the yard of Karen Bowser on Purity Avenue in Rimersburg between 9:30 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday. The dog has a white spot on its neck. Anyone with information about the incident should call 814-226-1710.

6:25 a.m. Monday — A tractor-trailer driven by Thomas Wagner, 37, of Youngstown, Ohio, hit a cement walkway of a bridge on Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, sliding the entire span of the bridge before hitting the parapet end of the bridge. He was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.State Police, VenangoTuesday — Someone threw a small rock through a kitchen window at the Irwin Township residence of Michelle Shera, 52, at 723 Dog Hollow Road between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.Tuesday — Someone broke into Paul Brown's Clinton Township garage between Sunday and Monday. No items were reported stolen.
