Martha M. Deal Smith, 96, of Butler died Friday evening at the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born June 13, 1911, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Forney and Florence (Cook) Barnes.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Homeacre Chapel in Butler.

She is survived by three sons, Skip O. and Frank G. Deal of Butler and Ervin T. Deal of East Butler; two daughters, Barbara Ann Watterson of Butler and Mrs. Richard (Gladys) Garner of Arizona; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank T. Deal, who died, June 6, 1980, and John K. Smith, who died, Jan. 3, 1995. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers, two sisters and a grandson.

<B>Smith</B> — Friends of Martha M. Deal Smith, who died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home,</B> 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. David L. Fisher, her church pastor, will officiate.
