William C. Shakley, 90, formerly of South Duffy Road, died Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.

He was born July 1, 1917, in Perry Township. He was the son of Abner C. and Rene Barger Shakley.

Mr. Shakley was a member of North Main Street Church of God.

He was a Past Master of Parker Lodge 521 and a member of Coudersport Consistory.

He enjoyed fishing.

He was a World War II veteran.

He retired after 27 years of service from the Stainless Finishing Department of Armco.

Surviving are his daughter and her husband, Carolyn and Richard Cooper of Gibsonia; two grandsons, Richard and his wife, Lisa, Cooper of Alexandria, Va., and Scott and his wife, Colleen, Cooper of Monroeville; a sister, Mary Jane Rottman of Karns City; five great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Alivia, Zachary, Michael and Nicholas Cooper; a sister-in-law, V. Ruth Shakley of Rio Rancho, N.M., and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, H. Jane Say Shakley, who died Oct. 28, 1986; four sisters and four brothers.

Shakley, who died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev.
