6:06 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Curt Knotick, 41, of Butler hit a stop sign and a street sign at the intersection of Route 68 and 13th Avenue. Knotick said his accelerator became stuck and he could not stop his car.1:20 p.m. Sunday — Aaron M. Schuelke, 20, of Butler was charged with person not to possess firearm, carrying a firearm without a permit and possession of a controlled substance after police were tipped off that a man walking on Pillow Street had a pistol and drugs. When police found Schuelke walking with another man on West Cunningham Street, they found him carrying a Hopkins & Allen rimfire pistol and a bottle of Vicodin. He was jailed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bond.1:01 p.m. Sunday — An unknown vehicle hit a parked car owned by Peggy Brown of Butler outside her residence at 322 Zeigler Ave.2:55 a.m. Sunday — Kevin G. Gathers, 41, of Smithton, Pa., was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a small amount of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and general light requirements following a traffic stop on Route 8. His blood alcohol level registered above 0.08 percent, which is the state minimum level for drunken driving.12:10 a.m. Sunday — Frederick Milton McGill, 51, of Butler was charged with weapon possession, driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop on Cunningham Street. His blood alcohol level registered at 0.94 percent during testing, greater than the 0.08 percent state minimum for drunken driving. Police found a switchblade and a crack pipe in McGill's clothing.7:21 p.m. Saturday — Brent Rothen, 29, of Butler was charged with simple assault after his sister, Cerise Rothen, 27, went to the city police station and reported being pushed into a washer before being grabbed by the throat and slammed into a wall at 159 N. Main St. Police report the back of her head was cut and her neck was red. Brent Rothen was jailed in Butler County Prison before being released on $1,000 bond.1:12 a.m. Saturday — John D. Clark III, 40, of Evans City was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and failing to obey a traffic control device following a traffic stop on South Chestnut Street. His blood alcohol registered higher than the 0.08 percent state minimum for drunken driving.9:58 p.m. Friday — Rodger Finney, 47, of Butler was charged with simple assault after police responded to a disturbance call to 505 W. Wayne St. Finney allegedly pushed his girlfriend, Sonja Jean Madison, 40, to the ground outside and dragged her by the hair into the house before punching her in the head and face. Police report Madison had a bloody lip and nose, a swollen, black left eye and blood on her face. Finney was jailed in Butler County Prison on $25,000 bond.1:37 p.m. Friday — An unknown vehicle hit the driver's side mirrors of two vehicles parked on Eau Claire Street. The vehicles are owned by Francis Bodema and Michelle Schummer.10 p.m. Thursday — An unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle owned by Jon Anderson of Butler while it was parked in the Monroe Hotel parking lot.1:18 p.m. Thursday — An unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle owned by Sandra Grame of Butler outside her residence at 512 E. Locust St. between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 1:15 p.m. Thursday.

3:10 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Dane Carlsson, 55, of Sweden and an SUV driven by Jonathan Allen, 34, of Butler collided on North Shore Drive in Worth Township. A passenger in the SUV, Judith Allen, 62, of Butler received minor injuries. No other injuries were reported. All of the occupants in both vehicles were wearing seat belts. Portersville firefighters and ambulance crew assisted at the scene.3 a.m. Sunday — Allen Long, 43, was found in a wooded area off Kohlmeyer Road in Washington Township after not returning to his Mercer County home from hunting. Long had sprained his ankle after becoming lost. Along with state police, the Bruin, Eau Claire, North Washington, Petrolia and West Sunbury volunteer fire departments participated in the search. Before he was found, his vehicle was located along the road.12:36 a.m. Sunday — Butch Wiencek, 22, of Cranberry was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 38 in Rockland Township.8:30 p.m. Saturday — A 26-year-old Coraopolis man fell down a flight of stairs at the Pine Glen Apartments in Slippery Rock Township and landed on his head. He was treated at the scene before being flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital for further treatment of the head wound. Police did not release his name, but report he was intoxicated at the time of the accident.11:30 a.m. Saturday — A Boy Scout litter pick-up crew found binoculars, men's and women's eyeglasses, a portable CD player and a car stereo with CD player off Mitchell Hill Road in Summit Township. The owner may claim the items at the state police barracks in Butler Township.2 a.m. Saturday — An SUV driven by James Fiore, 21, of Hermitage hit an embankment off Ralston Road in Slippery Rock Township before rolling onto its roof. One passenger, Tim McClain, 21, of New Castle received moderate injuries. McClain was not wearing a seat belt. A second passenger, Christina Ferrante, 21, of Slippery Rock received minor injuries. Fiore was not injured. He and Ferrante were wearing seat belts. Fiore was charged with driving under the influence and several traffic violations.Saturday — Someone stole an unspecified amount of copper from Deborah Anspach's property at 4260 William Flinn Highway in Mercer Township between Friday and Saturday. Anyone with information about the theft should call police at 724-284-8100.6:20 p.m. Friday — A male stole an undetermined amount of merchandise from Boscov's department store in the Clearview Mall in Center Township. The male, who hid the items in his hoodie, is described as being 18 to 20 years old, having red hair and a medium build, and wearing a black ball cap, green hoodie and blue jeans.Thursday — Someone stole $500 in silver coins from the home of Marilyn Claypoole at 226 Reimer Road in Petrolia between Tuesday and Thursday. Police are investigating.Oct. 7 — Someone stole $21,600 worth of Ferronickel owned by Allegheny Ludlum Corp. from the John Jerich Warehouse at 910 Saxonburg Road in Jefferson Township between 8 a.m. Oct. 3 and 3 p.m. Oct. 7. Police are investigating.2:50 a.m. Oct. 7 — A pickup truck driven by Cody Lee Craig, 20, of Chicora hit a guardrail, a speed limit sign and a tree off Chicora Road in Fairview Township. Craig was flown by medical helicopter to Presbyterian Hospital for treatment on unspecified injuries. He was cited for careless driving and not using restraint systems.

5:30 a.m. Friday — A pickup truck driven by Shawn Boyer, 18, of Ford City hit an embankment off Route 3012 in North Buffalo Township before rolling onto its side. Boyer was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.Thursday — Someone stole a Yamaha ATV from the North Buffalo Township residence of Melissa Hetrick off Pony Farm Road between noon Oct. 8 and noon Oct. 11. Anyone with information about the theft should call police at 724-543-2011.
